About this program

Our Professional Accounting program offers you the opportunity to develop the knowledge and expertise you need for a rewarding career in accounting.

The program meets the requirements for professional accounting accreditation with the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand () and .

You can complete the CPA, CAANZ or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants () program while working, after graduating from university to gain an internationally recognised accounting qualification.

To complete the Professional Accounting program and gain associate membershipinto CPA Australia and CAANZ, you need to undertake 12 units fromaccounting and other essential business disciplines.

About this program

The Professional Accounting Program requires the completion of 72 credit points in units of study as follows:

(1)four 1000-level core units of study (24 credit points):

  • Accounting, Business and Society
  • Accounting and Financial Management
  • Economics for Business Decision Making
  • Quantitative Business Analysis

(2) four 2000-level core units of study (24 credit points):

  • Business Law
  • Corporate Finance I
  • Financial Accounting A
  • Management Accounting

(3) four 3000-level core units of study (24 credit points):

  • Accounting and Auditing in Practice
  • Australian Taxation System
  • Financial Accounting B
  • Information Systems for Accountants.
