Sydney Health Ethics: Doing it! Participatory Visual Methodologies and Youth Sexuality Research

Internationally renowned scholar, Professor Sarah Flicker, explained the rationales for community based, participatory research, and illustrated best practices in these through three projects co-designed with Indigenous youth in Canada.

Professor Flicker fleshed out the principles that underpin her approach, and the possibilities and outcomes that participatory visual methods in particular can create.

  • Our Professor of Practice (Indigenous Engagement) Professor Tom Calma AO was recently appointed as a member of the Australian Medical Research Advisory Board (AMRAB) by the Hon Greg Hunt MP Minister for Health and Aged Care.

    The AMRAB advises the Government on research and innovation priorities under the landmark $20 billion Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF). Professor Calma AO is a key member of the Poche Centre’s Research team and leads our engagement work.

  • University of Sydney researchers, Associate Professor Michelle Dickson and Professor Jaime Miranda were involved in researching Australia's successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic.
