Real talk with our LGBTIQ students and staff

What is the difference between being queer, gay or lesbian? Aren't they all about same-sex relationships? Students and staff from the University of Sydney's LGBTIQ community answer questions some are too afraid to ask.

Ahead of this year’s , seven volunteers from the University’s LGBTIQ community came together to answer anonymous questions few would feel comfortable asking in person.

Two undergraduates, a postgraduate student, a history PhD candidate and three staff members arrived at Maclaurin Hall not knowing what to expect. With a shuffled deck of questions and cameras rolling, we were able to unearth some truly candid insisghts about life in the LGBTIQ community and personal experiences with coming out.
