TENS and psychophysiological responses to pain

Volunteers wanted… Healthy adult (18 years or older) volunteers are wanted to take part in a research study investigating Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) for pain sensitivity.

TENS involves passing a low voltage (and often undetectable) current through your skin to stimulate the nerves. Pain sensitivity will be assessed through electro-cutaneous stimulations administered via electrodes attached to the back of your hand. You will decide the maximum stimulation level.

The study involves a single 1hr session and you will be reimbursed for the costs associated with participating.

The study is being conducted in the School of Psychology, University of Sydney.

If you are interested in participating, please email tessa.rooney@sydney.edu.au for more information.Ìý
