Established in 1991, our goal is to contribute to the design, management and optimisation of infrastructure, transport, logistics and supply chain initiatives around the globe.
We focus on providing impartial, evidence-based research on these key facets of Australia’s economic competitiveness, environmental prosperity and social wellbeing, with a view to informing the management and policy directions of industry and government.

Our work is deeply aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our research, partnerships, and education initiatives. It connects to global sustainability efforts through a range of contributions including advancing sustainable urban mobility, enhancing low-emission freight solutions, fostering equitable transport access and supporting data-driven policy reform. We collaborate with government agencies, industry leaders, and international partners to integrate digital technologies that improve efficiency and resilience in supply chains. ITLS researchers are also active members of the University’s Net Zero Institute.
