$9000 per year, tenable for up to three years.ÌýAÌýrecipient can hold the scholarship for an additional year for completion of the Bachelor ofÌýAdvanced Studies or where the Bachelor of Commerce is combined with the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science (where applicable).
You must:
1. Background
a. Established in 2013 by a generous donation from Nomura Australia Limited, this scholarshipÌýsupports emerging leaders with a demonstrated interest in business and contributing toÌýtheir community.
2. Eligibility
a. Applicants must be Domestic students.
b. Applicants must have successfully applied through UAC to commence an undergraduate degree administered by the University of Sydney Business School.
c. Applicants must have achieved an ATAR (or equivalent) of at least 97 in the NSW HSC orÌýequivalent.
3. Selection Criteria
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
I. academic merit, and
II. answers provided in the common undergraduate application form, including demonstrated leadership skills, community involvement and an interest in Business.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Dean of the University of Sydney Business School, orÌýtheir nominated delegates.
4. Value
a. The Scholarship is valued at $9,000 per annum and is tenable for up to three years. AÌýrecipient can hold the scholarship for an additional year for completion of the Bachelor ofÌýAdvanced Studies or where the Bachelor of Commerce is combined with the Bachelor of ArtsÌýor Bachelor of Science (where applicable).
b. The Scholarship annual value will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date ofÌýeach semester.
c. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted.
d. Suspension of the scholarship is permitted for up to two semesters provided the recipient isÌýpermitted to, or obtains approval to, suspend their degree.
e. Requests for suspension of the scholarship for more than two semesters will be considered,Ìýand if appropriate approved, on a case-by-case basis by the University of Sydney BusinessÌýSchool.
f. Transfer of the Scholarship to another degree program is not permitted without theÌýpermission of the Dean responsible for the initial program and does not involve lengtheningÌýthe tenure of this Scholarship.
g. If extenuating circumstances arise, the recipient may submit a request to decrease theirÌýstudy load to a minimum full-time load per semester (18 credit points), but only with theÌýpermission of the Faculty. The duration of the Scholarship will not be extended if a recipientÌýundertakes a minimum full-time load.
h. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
i. No other amount is payable.
5. Ongoing eligibility
a. To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must enrol in 24 credit points eachÌýsemester and maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 75. Undertaking aÌýminimum full-time load will not extend the duration of the scholarship.
b. Recipients undertaking an exchange during the tenure of this Scholarship are required toÌýhave achieved a Satisfied Requirements grade (SR) to receive their next payment.
c. Recipients are required to submit a 200-word statement to the Business SchoolÌý(business.scholarships@sydney.edu.au) before 15 December in each year of holding theÌýscholarship, summarising their involvement and impact in leadership and community spaces.
6. Termination
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. enrols in fewer than 22 credit points in a semester without prior approval by theÌýBusiness School,
III. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
IV. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but notÌýlimited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their ScholarshipÌýapplication,
V. accepts an alternative multi-year scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney,Ìývalued at $8,000 per annum or more, or
VI. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to UniversityÌýerror.
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated underÌýany instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the UniversityÌýreserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient beÌýreimbursed.
7. Other Requirements
a. Scholarship recipients may be invited to promote the program in which they are enrolled,Ìýrepresent the University of Sydney at student welcome, marketing events and corporateÌýnetworking events and fulfil the on-campus functions of a Business School StudentÌýAmbassador.
