You must:

  • be a domestic/ international student (some visa holders accepted but not available to students who require a student visa to study in Australia)
  • be eligible to receive an unconditional offer of admission into the MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy)
  • be a University of Sydney employee in a Professional or an Academic leadership role
  • be able to demostrate academic merit and personal integrityÌý
  • attend the selection interview
  • be motivated to succeed in business in a socially responsible way by demonstrating a commitment to apply the learning offered in the MBA degree to make a positive difference to professional life in business practice
  • submit a personal statement which demonstrates leadership capability, experience and potentials, problem solving acuity, ability to work with diverse stakeholders andÌý international orientation
  • explain what you hope to achieve professionally and personally by completing an MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy).

This Scholarship was established by the University of Sydney Business School to provide a professional development opportunity to staff and to enhance the capability of the University to achieve its strategic purpose.

1.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Background

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý This Scholarship was established by the University of Sydney Business School to provide a professional development opportunity to staff and to enhance the capability of the University to achieve its strategic purpose.

2.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Eligibility

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Applicants must be eligible to receive an unconditional offer of admission into the MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy) offered by the University of Sydney Business School.

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Applicants must be University of Sydney employees in a Professional or an Academic leadership role, who are involved in the broader purposes of the University including its contribution to Australian society.

c.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Students currently enrolled in the University of Sydney MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy) are not eligible to apply.

3.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Selection Criteria

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý I.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý academic merit, and

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý II.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý personal integrity,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý III.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý performance in the selection interview,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý IV.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý motivation to succeed in business in a socially responsible way by demonstrating a commitment to apply the learning offered in the MBA degree to make a positive difference to professional life in business practice, and

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý leadership capability, experience and potentials,

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý problem solving acuity,

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý ability to work with diverse stakeholders,

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý international orientation, and

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý what the applicant hopes to achieve professionally and personally by completing an MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy).

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be awarded by the Selection Committee consisting of the Director, MBA, or their nominated delegate (academic), a professional staff member from the Management and Executive Education team, and an alumnus of the MBA Program.

4.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Value

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The scholarship will cover 50% of the recipient’s tuition fees for a maximum duration of up to four years.

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship must be taken up in the semester in which it is offered.

c.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Program Director, MBA, and it is not transferable to another degree or university.

d.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

e.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý No other amount is payable. Recipient is responsible for the payment of the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and other associated fees.

5.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Ongoing eligibility

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester.

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The recipient must maintain a continuous enrolment of minimum 18 credit points of study per year, unless under exceptional circumstances approval is granted by the Director, MBA to enroll in less than 18 credit points in any given year. with a continuous enrolment each semester.

c.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Suspension of the scholarship is only permitted under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the relevant Associate Dean (or their nominee).

6.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Termination

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýI.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýII.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýIII.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý does not meet the minimum enrolment load requirement without prior permission from the Director, MBA,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýIV.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý leaves the employment of the University of Sydney,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý V.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýVI.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý is awarded an alternative scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney, for the same purpose as this Scholarship. In such circumstances this scholarship will be terminated in favour of the alternative scholarship where the alternative scholarship is of higher value.

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýVII.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý has outstanding unpaid academic fees,

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý VIII.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or

Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý IX.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.

Ìýb.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.

Ìýc.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.

7.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Representation

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The recipient will be invited to promote the MBA Program and represent the University of Sydney Business School at student orientation, marketing and corporate networking events.
