1.听听听听听听 Background

a.听听听听听听听 This Scholarship was established by the University of Sydney Business School to provide a professional development opportunity to staff and to enhance the capability of the University to achieve its strategic purpose.

2.听听听听听听 Eligibility

a.听听听听听听听 Applicants must be eligible to receive an unconditional offer of admission into the MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy) offered by the University of Sydney Business School.

b.听听听听听听 Applicants must be University of Sydney employees in a Professional or an Academic leadership role, who are involved in the broader purposes of the University including its contribution to Australian society.

c.听听听听听听听 Students currently enrolled in the University of Sydney MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy) are not eligible to apply.

3.听听听听听听听听听听 Selection Criteria

a.听听听听听听听 The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:

听 听 听 听 听 听 听 听 I.听听听听听听听听听听听 academic merit, and

听 听 听 听 听 听 听 听 II.听听听听听听听听听听听 personal integrity,

听 听 听 听 听 听 听 听 III.听听听听听听听听听听听 performance in the selection interview,

听 听 听 听 听 听 听 听 IV.听听听听听听听听听听听 motivation to succeed in business in a socially responsible way by demonstrating a commitment to apply the learning offered in the MBA degree to make a positive difference to professional life in business practice, and

听 听 听 听 听 听 听 听 V.听听听听听听听听听听听 a personal statement which demonstrates:

-听听听听听听听听 leadership capability, experience and potentials,

-听听听听听听听听 problem solving acuity,

-听听听听听听听听 ability to work with diverse stakeholders,

-听听听听听听听听 international orientation, and

-听听听听听听听听 what the applicant hopes to achieve professionally and personally by completing an MBA (Technology and Digital Strategy).

b.听听听听听听 The Scholarship will be awarded by the Selection Committee consisting of the Director, MBA, or their nominated delegate (academic), a professional staff member from the Management and Executive Education team, and an alumnus of the MBA Program.

4.听听听听听听听听听听 Value

a.听听听听听听听 The scholarship will cover 50% of the recipient鈥檚 tuition fees for a maximum duration of up to four years.

b.听听听听听听 The Scholarship must be taken up in the semester in which it is offered.

c.听听听听听听听 Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Program Director, MBA, and it is not transferable to another degree or university.

d.听听听听听听听听听听 The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

e.听听听听听听听听听听 No other amount is payable. Recipient is responsible for the payment of the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and other associated fees.

5.听听听听听听听听听听 Ongoing eligibility

a.听听听听听听听听听听听 To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester.

b.听听听听听听听听听听 The recipient must maintain a continuous enrolment of minimum 18 credit points of study per year, unless under exceptional circumstances approval is granted by the Director, MBA to enroll in less than 18 credit points in any given year. with a continuous enrolment each semester.

c.听听听听听听听听听听听 Suspension of the scholarship is only permitted under exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the relevant Associate Dean (or their nominee).

6.听听听听听听听听听听 Termination

a.听听听听听听听听听听听 The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

听 听 听 听 听 听I.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,

听 听 听 听 听 听II.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,

听 听 听 听 听 听III.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 does not meet the minimum enrolment load requirement without prior permission from the Director, MBA,

听 听 听 听 听 听IV.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 leaves the employment of the University of Sydney,

听 听 听 听 听 听 V.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,

听 听 听 听 听 听 听VI.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 is awarded an alternative scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney, for the same purpose as this Scholarship. In such circumstances this scholarship will be terminated in favour of the alternative scholarship where the alternative scholarship is of higher value.

听 听 听 听 听 听 听VII.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 has outstanding unpaid academic fees,

听 听 听 听 听 听 VIII.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or

听 听 听 听 听 听 听 IX.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.

听b.听听听听听听听听听听 Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.

听c.听听听听听听听听听听听 Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.

7.听听听听听听听听听听 Representation

a.听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 The recipient will be invited to promote the MBA Program and represent the University of Sydney Business School at student orientation, marketing and corporate networking events.
