Charles Perkins Centre Implementation Hub

Ensuring research findings reach real people
Biomedical and health service research into chronic disease prevention often stays in the laboratory longer than it should. Our work addresses the urgent need for this new evidence to be put into practice.

The Charles Perkins Centre Implementation Hub drives the translation of world-leading lifestyle research into meaningful real-world health outcomes. We bridge the gap between innovative research and their implementation in communities, health services, and policy settings, ensuring that breakthrough findings in nutrition, sleep, and physical activity reach those who need them most.

Our vision is to create a collaborative ecosystem where researchers, communities, industry partners, and government agencies work together to address chronic disease burden through evidence-based implementation strategies. We champion community-driven research priorities and build sustainable partnerships that transform how lifestyle interventions are delivered and scaled across diverse populations.

Current projects and success stories

Facilitation of a successful application for theÌýscheme.

The partnership leverages the Charles Perkins Centre's expertise in lifestyle-related health conditions (obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease) with the DHCRC's focus on digital health innovation, creating opportunities for technology-enabled solutions to chronic disease management and prevention. The collaboration represents a strategic alignment where CPC provides domain expertise in lifestyle health research while DHCRC provides the digital health innovation framework and industry partnerships.

Qantas partnership

The Charles Perkins Centre partnered with Qantas to improve the long-haul flying experience by researching health and wellness factors, such as jetlag, sleep, nutrition, and movement, leading to innovations like the Project Sunrise circadian-smart cabin lighting and pre- and post-flight wellness strategies. This collaboration brings together researchers from various fields within the CPC and has allowed for a longitudinal and mutually beneficial relationship with industry.
