1.听听听听听 Background

a.听听听听听 This scholarship was established in 2025 to provide assistance to students studying the Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Sydney to compete at a national or international Sydney Medical School approved competitions.

2.听听听听听 Eligibility

a.听听听听听 The Scholarship is offered subject to the candidates being currently enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.

b.听听听听听 Candidates must be enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (MD Program) at the time of the competition in either a national or international Sydney Medical School approved competition.

c.听 听 听 Candidates must provide evidence of registration for the competition.听

d.听听听听听 Candidates must be endorsed by the Academic Director of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at Sydney Medical School.

3.听 听 听听Selection Criteria

a.听听听听听 The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of evidence of registration for the competition.

b.听听听听听 Applicants must provide written approval from the Academic Director of the Doctor of听Medicine (MD) program at Sydney Medical School.

c.听听听听听 听The Scholarship will be awarded by the Head of School and Dean of Sydney Medical School or nominated delegate(s).

d.听听听听听 Sydney Medical School has the discretion not to award any financial support if there are no applicants of sufficient merit.

4.听听听听听 Value

a.听听听听听 The scholarship value is at $1,000.

b.听听听听听 The Scholarship will be paid as a one-off payment upon receipt of recipient鈥檚 signed scholarship acceptance form.

c.听听听听听 Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted and it is not transferable to another University school, faculty or university.

d.听听听听听 No other amount is payable.

5.听听听听听 Termination

a.听听听听听 The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

听I.听听听听听听听听听 withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,

II.听听听听听听听听听 does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,

III.听听听听听听听听听 is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,

IV.听听听听听听听听听 accepts an alternative scholarship, administered by the University of Sydney, valued at $8,000 per annum or more for the same purpose as this Scholarship,

V.听听听听听听听听听 does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave,

VI.听听听听听听听听听 does not present at the conference for which the funds were awarded, or vii. does not declare funding applied or received for the same conference from an alternative source.

b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to University error.

c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
