This form will generate a letter confirming your placement, which must be submitted as part of your application. Please note that applications without this confirmation letter will not meet the eligibility criteria.

Background

This scholarship was established in 2025 with the aim of providing financial support to students pursuing mandatory coursework placements in a rural location within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney.

1.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Background

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý This Scholarship was established in 2025 with the aim of providing financial support to students pursuing mandatory coursework placements within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney.

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý This Scholarship has been funded by the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney.

2.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Eligibility

a.Ìý Ìý Ìý Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time in any Unit of Ïã½¶Ö±²¥ session code for Semester 2 2025 in one of the following coursework degrees within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney.

I.Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Bachelor of Applied Science (Diagnostic Radiography)

II.Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýBachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science)

III.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Physiology)

IV.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy)

V.Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý ÌýBachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy)

VI.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology)

b.Ìý Ìý Ìý Applicants must be a domestic student.

c.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Applicants must be experiencing financial hardship.

d.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Applicants must be undertaking a mandatory rural placement as part of their award course requirements. The placement location must be in a rural classified location under the Rural, Remote and Metropolitan Area (RRMA) system or the Modified Monash Model (MMM 3–7).

e.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Applicants must provide written confirmation of their placement from the Faculty ofÌýMedicine and Health (FMH) Student Placements team in their application.

f.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Applicants who have already received any other scholarship in the same year administered by the University are not eligible to apply for this Scholarship under the same award course in the same calendar year.

3.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Selection Criteria

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial hardship.

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be awarded by the Associate Dean Education of the Faculty of Medicine and Health, or their nominated delegate(s).

4.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Value

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship is valued up to $3,000 ($320 per week for each week of the placement, capped to $3,000). The value of the Scholarship will be indicated in the offer letter.

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be paid as a one-off payment on receipt of the Scholarship AcceptanceÌý´Ú´Ç°ù³¾.

c.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted.

d.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.

e.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý No other amount is payable.

5.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Ongoing eligibility

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý None apply.

6.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Termination

a.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

i. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,

ii. withdraws from the mandatory placement,

iii. commences part-time study without prior approval,

iv. withdraws from the purpose for which the Scholarship was awarded,

v. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance, or

vi. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application.

b.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless the termination was due to University error.ÌýÌý

c.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminated under any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
