This scholarship is valued at $4,500 and is awarded in the fourth year of the recipient's Doctor of Medicine degree, in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.Ìý
The scholarship is to be used to assist with travel and living expenses related to the general practice placements and also to assist with costs to attend conferences associated with general practice.

Established in 2015, this scholarship has been generously donated by a gift from Peter Davidson in memory of his wife Suzanne, to assist students within the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney.
1. Background
a. This Scholarship was established in 2015 to provide assistance to students studying in theÌýDoctor of Medicine (MD) at the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney.
b. This Scholarship has been donated by Peter Davidson in memory of his wife Suzanne.
2. Eligibility
a. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the Sydney MedicalÌýSchool at the University of Sydney.
b. Applicants must be completing the third year of their Doctor of Medicine.
c. Applicants must be undertaking an eight-week elective term or two four-week electiveÌýterms in general practice and/or community primary care.
3. Selection Criteria
a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:
I. academic merit, and
II. a personal statement (maximum of 1,000 words) demonstrating their interest in andÌýunderstanding of general practice and community primary care.
b. Applicants may be required to attend an interview.
c. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Head of School and Dean of the Sydney MedicalÌýSchool, or their nominated delegates.Ìý
4. Value
a. The Scholarship is valued at $4,500 and paid as a one-off payment.
b. The Scholarship annual value will be paid in two equal instalments after the census date ofÌýeach semester.Ìý
c. The Scholarship is to be used to assist with travel and living expenses related to the generalÌýpractice placements and also to assist with costs to attend conferences associated withÌýgeneral practice.
d. Deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted and it is not transferable to another UniversityÌýschool, faculty or university.Ìý
e. The Scholarship will be offered subject to the availability of funds.
f. No other amount is payable.
5. Termination
a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. commences part-time study without prior approval,Ìý
III. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,Ìý
IV. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but notÌýlimited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their ScholarshipÌýapplication,Ìý
V. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave.
b. Once the Scholarship has been terminated, it will not be reinstated unless due to UniversityÌýerror.Ìý
c. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or the Scholarship is terminatedÌýunder any instance in the Termination Clause of these terms and conditions, the UniversityÌýreserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient beÌýreimbursed.Ìý
